First sectional layout

An area in the basement was earmarked, and I planned a sectional layout. I buuilt the first end section - a loop.
it was "freelanced" 1x2 pine framign with masonite subroadbed and camping-roll foam trackbed (yellow!). Since much of the loop trackwork was to to be hidden in a hill, I cut up irrigation pipe to use as emergency side walls to catch derails. Don't do this - the edges are sharp and unforgiving for humans retrieving rolling stock.
This idea got scrapped but the huge framework still lurks in the back of the space under the house and bits of yellow foam turn up from time to time.
