steel framing

On the original SPL I tried out riveted galv-steel wall framing with 50mm blue extruded Styrofoam glued to it.

Construction was fast - i cut the steel with an angle grinder and pop-riveted joints.

This would have been more rigid on a flat module but once the foam was cut to change elevations my engineering was not well enough designed to maintain rigidity. I think with more corner gussets to reduce movement of joints and better design of the frames it would have been stronger.

I like the look of steel stud framing ("walls") to support a layout instead of legs but use of steel for the layout framing itself is more problematic.
