latex caulk Tortoise mounts
instead of screws or copmplex brackets, I mount the Tortoise by gluing it direct to the plywood with latex caulking compouind, the same stuff i use for laying track.
it grabs quickly, but provides a few minutes to align the tortoise properly.
hasn't fallen off yet, and hopefully failures will be rare enough to make peeling it off not a hassle. It does give way to a forcefully inserted pallete knife.
